Foward of this book was given
by Most Revered Swami Ranganathanandaji Maharaj, the then 13th
President of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission.
I am very happy to know that Kumari Jasbir Kaur Ahuja of Patiala has
translated the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna into the Punjabi language
and that the Delhi Ramakrishna Mission is getting it published.
It Is a book which has inspired me from my 14th year of life, and it
is inspiring thousands of readers in all parts of the world, Hindu,
Muslim, Christian and Sikh, in English and other languages. A few
decades ago when I visited England. the Dean of Westminster
Cathedral, London said that he and his wife were reading the Gospel
of Sri Ramakrishna with great delight. I am sure every Punjabi will
realise that Sri Ramakrishna and his teachings are in the line of
the ten great Sikh Gurus.
Swami Vivekananda had tremendous love and respect for Guru Nanak and
Guru Govind Singh as expressed in his Lahore lecture.
This year is the tercentenary of Guru Govind Singh's starting of the
Khalsa. It was the earnest desire of Kumari Jasbir Kaur Ahuja and
myself to bring this out during this centenary. She has already
published several books on Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda.
She is a staunch devotee of the Sikh religion and she has translated
Guru Govind Singh's famous epistles to Aurangzeb, The Zafarnama,
into English.
I hope this unique book will bring spiritual strength and humanist
passion to its readers.
